One of the highlights of Brighton Bear Weekend is the picnic in the park. At this year’s Bear-B-Q Picnic, Gin & Bear It will be offering their signature range of superb cocktails and other drinks. We asked John and Aaron for more information …

Gin And Bear It

What can you tell us about Gin & Bear It?

We are a pop-up gin bar based in Brighton and Hove. With our 1968 Morris Minor, Aubrey, we travel around bringing gin-based happiness with us. We are often found at festivals, weddings, parties and events around Sussex. We have just celebrated our 1st Birthday, having “popped up” in summer 2015. Though we love gin and all things gin, it’s not all we do, and we are often called upon to tailor our bar to suit the occasion!

What sort of drinks will you be offering at the Bear-B-Q picnic in June?

Alongside the traditional Gin & Tonic we will be offering cocktails including one that we have developed just for the Bear-B-Q Picnic which not only involves gin and honey but surprisingly – Brighton Bier! We will have a selection of cocktails as well as beer, and soft drinks. Come and say hello – we don’t bite unless invited!

What’s your favourite gin-based drink at the moment?

We are very partial to a “Last Word”. This is a cocktail developed in the USA during the Prohibition era. It packs a big punch and is very tasty!

Which drinks are particularly popular with your customers?

The Gin & Tonic is always a favourite, and why not – it’s refreshing and a classic – but Pimm’s is popular, along with cocktails such as gingerbread martinis and sloe gin fizz!

Thanks – we can’t wait to try them. See you in June!
