On the evening of 15 October 2018, at this year’s Rainbow Fund grant awards ceremony at the Hilton Brighton Metropole, we presented a grant of £18,500 to Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard. This grant will allow their continued support of the Rainbow Café for LGBTQ people with dementia or memory loss, as well as a new service for LGBTQ people experiencing bereavement.

Afterwards, we sat down with Brighton and Hove’s Mayor Dee Simson, who works tirelessly to support many local charities and other causes. She’s pictured below with most of the Brighton Bear Weekend committee, including several new members.

We have always proudly supported the Rainbow Fund, with all profits from our events going to them and other local charities. Last year, our fundraising total from all our events was £10,060. So when you’re having fun at Brighton Bear Weekend, you’re doing it for a good cause too!
