In the third of three short interviews with Brighton Bear Weekend’s DJs, we chat with DJ Bozzy Bear …
Can you please tell us about yourself?
I’ve been DJing for 29 years, at local bars and old-school drum’n’bass and house parties. This is my third year DJing for Bear Weekend. I have DJed at Brighton Pride and at various bars and venues around Brighton, my favourite being the club night at Envy.
What can we expect from you at Brighton Bear Weekend?
I will be DJing at Uproar at Envy on the Friday, and at SubWoofer at Subline on the Saturday. Expect some dance classics from the past and present. I will be giving the bears what they want!
My favorite tunes at the moment are Rihanna’s Kiss it Better (Scene Kings Remix) and Disclosure’s Magnets (A-Trak Remix) featuring Lorde.
I like hearing music I can dance to, basically. I’m not into the trendy new style of dubsteppy house, that’s a no-no for me. I love a bar playing 80s classics. No particular favourite DJs – if they can work the crowd, they’re doing their job right!
I’m looking forward to seeing some old and new faces. The weekend’s going to be a busy one, so I will be unwinding at Underbears on the Sunday night, then enjoying a day off on the Monday!
DJ Bozzy Bear played at Uproar at Envy on Friday 17 June 2016 and at SubWoofer at Subline on Saturday 18 June 2016.
